Фінська Поліція безпеки Supo вважає, що співробітники російської розвідки можуть все частіше видавати себе за журналістів або дослідників, щоб вести розвіддіяльність у Фінляндії. Про це повідомляє сайт телерадіомовної компанії Yle із посиланням на дані Supo. 

За інформацією правоохоронців, кількість росіян, які займаються розвідувальною діяльністю у Фінляндії, значно скоротилася внаслідок висилки з країни дипломатів і відмови у видачі віз. Однак потреба в інформації з боку Росії, традиційна розвіддіяльність якої велася під дипломатичним прикриттям, не зменшилася, тож тепер вона змушена розглядати інші способи для шпигунства. За даними Supo, співробітники російської розвідки можуть у майбутньому все частіше видавати себе, наприклад, за журналістів або дослідників.

«Ці прикриття, однак, не забезпечують офіцерам розвідки захисту, який надає дипломатична недоторканність», – зауважують у Поліції безпеки. За її даними, впровадження нових розвідувальних методів є процесом нешвидким і складним. Supo також вважає, що Росія змушена перенести фокус у зборі інформації про Фінляндію у кіберсередовище та за межі країни.
