Що, якби проста гра Fortnite змусила замислитися про стан планети? Компанія Jameel Motorsport та агенція Serviceplan Arabia створили «The Treeless Map» — персоналізовану мапу Fortnite без жодного дерева.

Метою цієї ініціативи було проілюструвати наслідки вирубки лісів, безпосередньо звернувшись до молодого покоління там, де вони проводять більшість свого часу — у віртуальних світах.

У Fortnite дерева — це не просто декоративні елементи. Вони є життєво важливим ресурсом, що дозволяє гравцям збирати деревину для будівництва, захисту або навіть виживання. Оскільки молодь проводить в середньому 22 години на тиждень на платформах відеоігор, ця механіка є невід’ємною частиною їхнього ігрового досвіду.

Повністю видаляючи дерева з мапи, ця ініціатива занурює гравців у більш вороже середовище, яке важче зрозуміти. Це навмисно заплутаний досвід, який символічно відображає цілком реальні наслідки знищення екосистем.

Кампанія висвітлює тривожну цифру: 2400 дерев вирубують щохвилини по всьому світу. Трансформуючи цю абстрактну статистику в конкретний досвід, «The Treeless Map» досягає успіху там, де багато традиційних кампаній зазнають поразки.
