У Європі нові автомобілі матимуть систему попереджень про відволікання водія, відповідна вимога до автовиробників набуде чинності у 2024 році.

Система активуватиметься автоматично, коли авто досягає швидкості 20 км/год. Вона відстежуватиме рух очей і видаватиме попередження, якщо водій відводить погляд від дороги чи панелі приладів довше, ніж на шість секунд.

Сигнал може бути візуальним, зокрема у вигляді повідомлення на екрані, звуковим або тактильним. Але водій зможе вручну відключити попередження.

Європейська рада з безпеки дорожнього руху зазначає, що вимоги недостатньо суворі. Оскільки система не зможе розпізнати низку ситуацій, зокрема, якщо водій дивиться в телефон, закріплений на панелі приладів.

Водії найбільше відволікаються на мобільні телефони. Кожен третій розмовляв за кермом, тримаючи телефон у руках, а кожен четвертий перевіряє соцмережі під час руху, пише Європейська обсерваторія з безпеки дорожнього руху.

Кількість ДТП в Україні за рік зросла майже на чверть, а смертність від них підвищилася на 9%, ідеться в статистиці аварій. За рік сталося 23 462 ДТП із загиблими або травмованими. 3053 людини загинули, а 29 502 людини отримали травми. У Києві загинули 103 людини, а кількість смертельних аварій зросла на чверть, якщо порівняти з 2022 роком.
