Продажі електрокарів Tesla в Європі стрімко падають. Це почалося після того, як засновник Tesla Ілон Маск розпочав активну політичну діяльність.Про це пише Financial Times.

За даними Європейської асоціації виробників автомобілів, у цьому лютому Tesla продала в Європі 16 888 автомобілів — на 40% менше, ніж в лютому 2024 року 

Падіння продажів Tesla відбулося на тлі 26-відсоткового зростання продажів електромобілів, порівняно з минулим роком. Зокрема, збільшився попит на електрокари в Європейському Союзі, Великій Британії, Ісландії, Ліхтенштейні, Норвегії та Швейцарії. Водночас реєстрація нових автомобілів Tesla в лютому впала  на 76% в Німеччині, на 48% у Норвегії та на 26% у Франції.

У лютому 2025 року частка Tesla на європейському ринку впала до 1,8% проти 2,8% роком раніше. Аналітики звинувачують у падінні продажів Tesla «застарілі моделі», оскільки споживачі чекають випуску оновленої моделі Y у 2025-му. Також винна зростаюча конкуренція з боку китайських електрокарів, які стають дедалі популярнішими на європейському ринку.

Одна з причин падіння популярності компанії — це політика її засновника Ілона Маска. Деякі дії мільярдера, наприклад, підтримка ультраправої проросійської партії «Альтернатива для Німеччини» або перепалки з європейськими політиками, шкодять репутації Tesla за межами США.

Утім, невдоволення мільярдером почалося ще раніше — щойно він підтримав Дональда Трампа в передвиборчих перегонах у США. Ще наприкінці листопада 2024 року журналісти британської газети The Guardian писали, що власники Tesla почали активно купувати наліпки, які виправдовують їхній вибір автомобіля — наприклад, із фразою «Я купив це ще до того, як Ілон збожеволів».

Частка провини в невдачах Tesla лежить і на президенті США Трампі. Його непередбачувана торгова політика і необережні заяви, а також конфлікти із сусідніми країнами, зокрема з Канадою, суттєво шкодять фондовому ринку США. Через дії Трампа страждає не тільки Tesla, але й інші найбільші американські компанії.
