Це сталося ввечері 31 травня під час пожежі у її квартирі.

Про загибель телеведучої у фейсбуці повідомив директор Львівського державного Палацу естетичного виховання учнівської молоді Олег Климович.

«Ще одна втрата...Сьогодні вночі під час пожежі у власній квартирі, загинула Любов Янас. Відома телеведуча мистецьких програм Львівського телебаченні, театрознавиця, педагог, друг і прихильниця нашого театру», — також повідомила колега загиблої, акторка творчої майстерні «Театр у кошику» Лідія Данильчук.
