У ризькому барі Čē під час вечірки журналістів російської служби медіакомпанії BBC в ніч на 24 грудня невідомий кинув навчальну гранату та оглушив кількох людей. Про це пише DW з посиланням на повідомлення видання «Новая газета Европа» та двох співробітників ВВС, які підтвердили факт інциденту.

Близько 23:00, коли в закладі, крім журналістів, майже не залишалося відвідувачів, всередину зазирнув невідомий чоловік і кинув навчальну гранату РГД-5 під ноги людей у залі. За попередніми даними, постраждалих немає. Медійники пов'язують цей напад з їхньою професійною діяльністю.

Згідно з офіційним повідомленням латвійської поліції, правоохоронці порушили кримінальну справу про хуліганство та затримали двох осіб.

«Поточна інформація вказує на те, що мотивом став особистий конфлікт у цьому барі, і немає вказівок на те, що інцидент був пов’язаний із присутністю там журналістів», — ідеться в дописі в соцмережі Х.
