Команда покійного російського політика Олексія Навального припустила, що причиною блокування може бути мобільний додаток «Фотон-2024».

«У Росії почали блокувати Google Play Market. Влада готова позбавити можливості всіх користувачів Android завантажувати будь-які програми, щоб не дати скачати "Фотон-2024", який допомагає вибрати кандидата на виборах», — ідеться в повідомленні.

Застосунок «Фотон-2024» має випадково обрати будь-якого з трьох опонентів Володимира Путіна на президентських виборах або ж «зробити бюлетень недійсним». Незабаром після повідомлення про блокування Google Play Market команда Навального оприлюднила пряме посилання для завантаження сервісу для Android.

Так звані «вибори» президента Росії відбудуться 15–17 березня 2024 року.
