Перехідний уряд у Сирії запроваджує нові стандарти роботи медіа  й обіцяє в країні свободу слова та висловлення поглядів, вільну пресу після тотального контролю за часів режиму Башара Асада.

Про це в інтерв'ю AFP сказав міністр інформації Сирії в перехідному уряді країни Мохамед аль-Омар, повідомляє Hurriyet Daily News.

«Ми працюємо над консолідацією свободи преси та вираження поглядів, які були суворо обмежені в районах, контрольованих колишнім урядом Башара Асада»,—  сказав Мохамед аль-Омар.

Зазначається, що правляча в Сирії партія Баас і сімейна династія Асадів суттєво обмежили всі аспекти повсякденного життя, включаючи свободу преси та вираження поглядів, а засоби масової інформації були інструментом влади.

«Було серйозне обмеження свободи преси та вираження думок під час режиму, який практикував цензуру. У майбутньому ми працюємо над реконструкцією медіаландшафту, який є вільним, об’єктивним і професійним… Ми не хочемо продовжувати так само, тобто мати офіційні ЗМІ, мета яких — відшліфувати імідж правлячої влади», — наголосив аль-Омар.

Міністр уже зустрівся з десятками сирійських журналістів, щоб обговорити подальшу роботу та перехід на нові стандарти роботи.
