22-летняя украинская теннисистка, в прошлом многократная победительница состязаний в категории юниоров Элина Свитолина на Олимпиаде-2016 обошла лучшую теннисистку мира, "первую ракетку" Серену Уильямс.

Свитолина одержала победу в поединке за выход в четвертьфинал со счетом 2:0. 10 августа украинка сыграет с чешкой Петрой Квитовой.

В соцсетях победу Свитолиной встретили с восторгом.

"Напряженная борьба, уверенная игра и заслуженная победа над первой ракеткой мира. Браво", - написал в Facebook президент Петр Порошенко.

"Это серьезное достижение и заявка на медаль", - вторит президенту политик Олег Тягнибок.
