У 2023 році українці створили 84 431 нову статтю для "Вікіпедії" — тепер їх загальне число перевищило понад 1,3 млн сторінок. Це 14 місце серед 328 мовних розділів онлайн-енциклопедії.

При чому тільки у грудні створили 3 936 статей, і українська "Вікіпедія" посіла 12 місце серед усіх онлайн-енциклопедій.

Загалом українці за 2023 рік 1188 млн переглядів сторінок (у 2022 році цей показник був 1060 млн). Абсолютне річне зростання становить 128 млн переглядів. А за сім років популярність української "Вікіпедії" зросла на 124%, тобто більш ніж удвічі.

Ініціатор створення і співзасновник ГО "Вікімедіа Україна" Юрій Пероганичзазначає, що відвідуваність спадає влітку і зростає під час учнівських і студентських іспитів. Зокрема піки переглядів зафіксовані в березні (115,9 млн) і у травні (114,0 млн).

У 2023 році в українській "Вікіпедії" зробили 3 419 тисяч редагувань, що на 249 тисяч менше як у 2022 році. У середньому щодоби було 9 367 редагувань, щогодини 390, або 1 редагування що 9,2 секунди.

Пероганич додає, що в українській версії "Вікіпедії" найбільший попит саме на вміст, що стосується української географії, історії, культури і мистецтва, архітектури, музейної справи, війська, політики. А зі 150 найпопулярніших у всьому світі статей України стосуються 80, тобто більш ніж половина.

"«Вікіпедія» — поле інформаційної війни, один із важливих фронтів гібридної війни. Тому потрібна свого роду мобілізація українських патріотів у спільноту волонтерів-редакторів «Вікіпедії»", — додає він.
