У п'єсі Куралеха, який після окупації Донецька продовжує проживати у місті і вважає себе жителем "ДНР", вторгнення рф позиціонується, як "конфлікт", в якому обидва "братські народи" однаково винні.
У "Перемир'ї" жодним чином не згадується боротьба України за свободу, незалежність та територіальну цілісність. Натомість вторгнення рф подається, як "братовбивча війна".
На думку керівництва, п'єса несе "гуманітарний зміст" і не містить прокремлівських наративів. У Даугавпілському театрі також нагадують, що у квітні 2022 року було організовано читання-перформанс "Перемир’я" для "висловлення підтримки Україні" і "зменшення напруженості" серед місцевого населення.
