Папа Римский, обращаясь к верующим с традиционным посланием Urbi et Orbi («Городу и миру»), отметил, что нынешнее «Рождество полно слез», которые сейчас льются на Ближнем Востоке, в Африке и в Украине. Об этом пишет итальянская газета Corriere della Sera.

«Иисус, спаситель мира, помилуй всех тех, кто страдает сейчас в Украине, и сделай так, чтобы эта замечательная земля преодолела все невзгоды, преодолела ненависть и насилие», — сказал папа Франциск.

Он выразил надежду, что после этого Украина пойдет путем «братства и примирения».
По его словам, нынешнее Рождество полно слез, которые сейчас льются во всем мире, в частности, он упомянул пострадавших от лихорадки Эбола и детей, которые погибли в Пакистане.

Кроме того, он призвал к осуществлению эффективного диалога между израильтянами и палестинцами.
