Лондонське око - одне з найбільших у світі оглядових коліс - вимкнуло вогні після заходу сонця в четвер на знак жалоби. 

Британські театри також погасили світло, а присутні на виставах вшанували королеву хвилиною мовчання. Також театри відкрили книги співчуттів перед виставами на знак поваги.

У віці 96 років у шотландському замку Балморал 8 вересня померла королева Великої Британії Єлизавета II.
