Продюсер, режиссер и сценарист сериала «Американская история ужасов» Райан Мерфи заявил, что продолжение хоррора будет посвящено выборам президента США, прошедшим в 2016 году. Об этом сообщает The Independent в четверг, 16 февраля.

Мерфи отметил, что съемки седьмого сезона начнутся в июне. «Я думаю, сюжет заинтересует многих людей», — добавил он.

Продюсер допустил, что в сериале появится персонаж в образе республиканца Дональда Трампа.

В предыдущих сезонах «Американской истории ужасов» рассказывалось о доме с привидениями, психбольнице для душевнобольных преступников, цирке уродов, а также о пансионе для одаренных девушек, созданном ковеном ведьм. Сериал выходит с 2011 года, на данный момент выпущено шесть сезонов. В каждом из них рассказывается уникальная история, при этом основной актерский состав не меняется.

Трамп победил представительницу Демократической партии Хиллари Клинтон на выборах президента США, прошедших 8 ноября 2016 года. 20 января республиканец вступил в должность главы государства. На следующий день в Соединенных Штатах, Канаде, Великобритании и других странах прошли акции протеста против Трампа, которого обвиняли, в частности, в расизме и сексизме.
