 Газета Washington Post втратила 200 тисяч передплатників за тиждень через рішення не підтримувати жодного з кандидатів у президенти, повідомляє National Public Radio з посиланням на джерела в редакції.

Головний виконавчий директор газети Вілл Льюїс пояснив, що це рішення є поверненням до початків видання, коли газета зберігала нейтралітет. Проте багато співробітників не вірять у таке обґрунтування.

 

Упродовж десятиліть видання традиційно підтримувало кандидатів від Демократичної партії. Багато хто очікував, що редакція висловиться на підтримку Гарріс, але цього разу газета вирішила залишити вибір читачам.
