Прем’єр-міністр Арсеній Яценюк виступає за затвердження основних положень нової Конституції України на референдумі. Про це він сказав під час селекторної наради щодо виконання місцевих бюджетів.
«Президент ухвалив рішення щодо створення Конституційної комісії, голова парламенту очолює цю комісію. Країні потрібна нова Конституція… Воля народу через референдум має визначити нову українську Конституцію», – сказав Яценюк.
За словами прем’єра, зараз уряд робить свою частину роботи, а «далі президент, парламент і уряд разом з українським народом і лише спираючись на волю народу, писатимуть нову європейську українську Конституцію».
3 березня президент Петро Порошенко створив Конституційну комісію для розробки змін до Основного закону на чолі з головою Верховної Ради Володимиром Гройсманом.
