Зміна мала зворотну силу, і деякі креатори заявили, що втратили статус монетизації. Ще у січні YouTube заявив, що планує змінити правила.

Хоча нові пом’якшені правила не повертають ці зміни до старої політики платформи, YouTube вносить деякі зміни, які дозволять креаторам мати право на обмежену рекламу, якщо вони використовують грубу ненормативну лексику протягом перших кількох секунд відео.
