У компанії зауважили, що відео може бути відредагованим, однак творець має уникати:

• редагування, що унеможливлює відстеження першоджерела відео. Наприклад, якщо користувач використає зображення з метаданими C2PA, а потім збереже його в галереї телефону, що не підтримує C2PA v2.1, це може порушити ланцюжок визначення походження;

• значних змін основного наповнення відео, звуків або зображення;

• редагування, які роблять відео несумісним зі стандартами C2PA (версія 2.1 і вище).
