Відсутність назви країни на китайських онлайн-картах вважають показником ставлення КНР до війни, яку веде Ізраїль проти ХАМАС, -  повідомляє The Wall Street Journal.

Зокрема, Ізраїль більше не позначається на картах китайської пошукової системи Baidu та на онлайн-картах Amap компанії Alibaba. Водночас міжнародно визнані кордони держави позначені.

При цьому назви інших країн, включно з такими невеликими як Люксембург чи Монако, як і раніше відображаються.

 Alibaba і Baidu спершу не надали офіційного пояснення цієї зміни. Пізніше в коментарі The Telegraph речник Baidu Цзін Мен заперечив навмисне уникнення назви Ізраїлю на картах платформи:

 «Якщо простір обмежений, наші карти можуть не відображати назви чи прапори деяких територій»
