Ввечері 23 жовтня президент України Володимир Зеленський звернувся до громадян із підсумками 973-го дня війни, викликавши бурхливі реакції не лише в Україні, але й у росії. Справа не лише в тому, що президент говорив, а в тому, що він був одягнутий у футболку з написом "Make russia small again", що можна перекласти як "Зробімо росію малою знову". 

Футболка Зеленського стала приводом для обурення з боку російських пропагандистських медіа і навіть офіційних осіб. МЗС рф офіційно назвало Зеленського «чортовим придурком» та пригрозило окупувати Київ через напис на футболці Зеленського: «Зробимо росію малою знову».

«Малою як що? СРСР? російська імперія? О, я зрозуміла! Як Київська Русь. Для цього нам потрібен Київ. Ти сам це сказав, придурку», — речниця російського МЗС Марія Захарова.

Пропагандистські канали теж активно обговорювали новий "лук" президента України. Вони намагалися висміяти напис на футболці, стверджуючи, що росія ніколи не була малою державою і що цей меседж не відповідає дійсності. Проте очевидно, що такий простий жест Зеленського влучив у болюче місце російської пропаганди, зачепивши їхні імперські амбіції.
