Зеленському відмовили у можливості виступити зі зверненням у фіналі «Євробачення», — The Times

В EBU зазначили, що у Євробаченні діють суворі правила та принципи, встановлені з моменту створення шоу. І одним із наріжних каменів конкурсу є «неполітичний характер заходу» – цей принцип забороняє можливість робити політичні чи подібні заяви.

«Прохання Зеленського виступити перед публікою на конкурсі пісні Євробачення, хоч і зроблене з добрими намірами, на жаль, не може бути задоволене керівництвом Європейського мовного союзу, оскільки це суперечило б правилам заходу», – йдеться у заяві.

В EBU нагадали, що Україна і так широко представлена на конкурсі (виступлять щонайменше 11 українських артистів), оформлення заходу та музичний супровід було створено у співпраці з українцями, а 37 локацій України будуть представлені у «листівках».

Прессекретар Зеленського заявив, що Офіс президента не звертався до організаторів «Євробачення» з пропозицією онлайн-виступу президента України на конкурсі. При цьому Сергій Никифоров написав, що спростовує інформацію від The Times, хоча офіційну заяву робила з цього приводу і Європейська мовна спілка.
