Влиятельный британский журнал The Economist перестал присылать свои печатные экземпляры в Украину из-за вымогательства взяток.

Об этом сообщило украинское англоязычное издание Kyiv Post, отметив, что перестало получать журнал с конца апреля.

Во Всеукраинском агентстве подписки объяснили, что в The Economist заявили, что в Украине могут вести бизнес "только уголовники", и прервали контракты на поставку своих журналов.

По словам представительницы агентства, британцы схватились за голову, узнав о суммах взяток, которые от них требовали государственные служащие.

Как пишет Kyiv Post, Всеукраинском агентству подписки уже почти удалось преодолеть эту проблему путем длительных переговоров и переписки, и сейчас представители The Economist подписывают новые контракты, поэтому вероятно, что журнал снова будет поступать в Украину с августа.

Такие же проблемы, которые заставляли прекращать поставки в Украину экземпляры печатных изданий, имели и другие иностранные средства массовой информации, отметили в Kyiv Post.
