В Гане власти закрыли фальшивое посольство США, которое в течение 10 лет незаконно выдавало американские визы, сообщает Новое время

Здание фейкового посольства располагалась в старом розовом двухэтажном доме с гофрированной железной крышей и прицепленным снаружи флагом США. Внутри здания висел портрет президента Барака Обамы.

В Госдепе отметили, что "посольство" организовали члены ганского и турецкого криминальных группировок и ганский юрист, который специализируется на иммиграции и уголовном праве.

В столице Ганы Аккре обнаружили также фейкове голландское посольство. Фальшивые консульские услуги стоили 6 тысяч долларов.

Во время рейдов, которые привели к ряду арестов, изъяли настоящие и поддельные визы в Индию, Южную Африку и Шенгенские визы, а также 150 паспортов из 10 различных стран.

В заявлении Госдепа не сообщается, как банда получала настоящие визы. Также неизвестно, сколько людей незаконно въехали в Соединенные Штаты по визам, которые выдали в этом "посольстве".

Ранее сообщалось, что в столице Филиппин Маниле полицейские обнаружили бомбу рядом с американским посольством.
