Зараз фотографія Гершковича і заголовки на кшталт «Його історія має бути тут» займають перші шпальти друкованих і онлайн-видань, прагнучи привернути увагу до тяжкого становища журналіста. Експерти вважають, що росія викрала Гершковича для того, щоб згодом обміняти його на в’язнів, яких утримують США.

«Завдяки цій кампанії журнал посилює дискусію навколо несправедливого затримання Евана і зусиль, спрямованих на його повернення додому, а також ділиться потужним посланням про важливість захисту свободи преси в усьому світі», — кажуть WSJ і креативне агентство Mother, яке допомогло розробити звернення.

Робота з’явилася через кілька днів після того, як росія захопила шістьох незалежних журналістів, серед яких Антоніна Фаворська, що вела хроніку кар’єри опозиційного лідера Олексія Навального, який помер минулого місяця в сибірській в’язниці.
