5 квітня 2024 року в Києві після тяжкої тривалої хвороби у віці 65 років померла кримськотатарська журналістка Гульнара Курталієва. Про це повідомив на своїй сторінці у фейсбуці голова Меджлісу кримськотатарського народу Рефат Чубаров.

Гульнара Курталієва працювала журналісткою кримськотатарської газети «Авдет» — друкованого органу Організації кримськотатарського національного руху (ОКНР) з дня її заснування, 15 червня 1990 року. Курталієва також багато років працювала кореспонденткою «Укрінформу». 

Рефат Чубаров повідомив, що похорон відбудеться 6 квітня о 13:00 в мечеті села Чайки Київської області, за адресою вул. Винниченка, 7.

Колектив «Детектора медіа» висловлює співчуття родичам, близьким та колегам Гульнари.
