Про це у фейсбук повідомила перекладачка книжки Ярина Груша. Вона –  викладачка української мови та літератури в державних університетах у Мілані й Турині. 

Ідея перекладу виникла через брак творів української літератури італійською:«Чотири роки тому я проекспериментувала і поставила в програму з української літератури в Міланському університеті “Лісову пісню” Лесі Українки. Перекладу, який я би могла використовувати під час лекції, не було і я пристрасно розказувала студентам, які прекрасні на Волині ліси, як зачаровувала Мавка Лукаша і як експресивно сварилися між собою Килина та мати Лукашева. Це була одноразова акція з мого боку, адже не маючи тексту, студенти дуже мляво реагували, хоча запам’ятали гарно біографію Лесі Українки.» 

 «Лісова пісня» вийшла друком у серії Oscar Classici найбільшого видавництва Італії Mondadori.
