Директор Канадської служби розвідки та безпеки (Canadian Security Intelligence Service, CSIS) Девід Віньо рекомендував співвітчизникам не користуватись платформою китайської компанії ByteDance. Він підкреслив, що китайський уряд застосовує різноманітні стратегії для отримання особистих даних з усього світу.
Для цієї мети, за словами Віньо, Китай використовує аналіз великих даних та штучний інтелект, ставлячи під загрозу конфіденційність та безпеку користувачів. Такі застереження Агентства безпеки Канади стають частиною глобальних зусиль, спрямованих на регулювання та захист від потенційних ризиків, пов'язаних з тіктоком.
Водночас прессекретарка TikTok Даніель Морган запевнила, що компанія ніколи не ділилася даними користувачів з урядом Китаю та не планує цього робити в майбутньому.
Раніше Інститут стратегічної політики Австралії заявив про те, що Китай використовує у пропагандистських цілях особисті дані користувачів соцмережевих програм, платформ та онлайн-ігор.
Дослідники закликали політиків розробити контрзаходи для захисту від імовірних майбутніх інфокампаній Китаю.
Нагадаємо, 20 квітня 2024 року через занепокоєння американських законодавців, що Китай може отримати доступ до даних про американців або шпигувати за ними за допомогою програми, Палата представників США прийняла законопроєкт №8038 під назвою «Мир шляхом сили». Він містить вимогу до китайського концерну ByteDance протягом пів року продати соцмережу «ТікТок», інакше застосунок заборонять на території США.
Закон був прийнятий переважною більшістю в Конгресі всього через кілька тижнів після подання. Президент США Джо Байден підписав закон про заборону тіктоку 24 квітня.
Закон забороняє онлайн-магазинам пропонувати завантаження тіктоку та послуги інтернет-хостингу для доступу до нього, у разі якщо ByteDance не відмовиться від нього до 19 січня 2025 року.
