Торік газета Washington Post  втратила 77 мільйонів доларів і видавець шукає шляхи для порятунку медіа. Про це повідомляє CNN. 

 Керівництво Washington Post  заявило про нові гнучкі виплати співробітникам і передплати для читачів (наприклад, щодо окремих матеріалів започаткують систему «одноразових покупок»).

Крім того, повідомлено про необхідність інтеграції штучного інтелекту в редакції. 

Експерименти з моделями машинної мови вже тривають. Газета  почала використовувати голоси, згенеровані штучним інтелектом. На черзі верстка статей за допомогою ШІ
 

За прогнозами кінець 2024 року стане для американського видання The Washington Post не найкращим. Сума збитків під кінець цього року становитиме 100 мільйонів доларів. Дістанеться й працівникам. Відтак очікується, що видання скоротить штат працівників на 10%. Число журналістів скоротиться до 940 осіб.
 

Стало відомо, що новим CEO The Washington Post стане Вільямс Льюїс. Раніше він був на посаді головного виконавчого директора Dow Jones, а також видавцем The Wall Street Journal.

  • Льюїс розпочне роботу 2 січня 2024 року. 
  • Попередницею Вільяма Льюїса була Петті Стоунсайфер, яка стала т.в.о. виконавчого директора у червні.
  • До речі, більшість доходів видання отримує від цифрового бізнесу. Кількість передплатників сягає 2,5 мільйона осіб.
