В Ізраїлі підтвердили, що журналіст із Сектору Гази Абдалла Альджамал був учасником терористичного угруповання ХАМАС й утримував у себе вдома трьох заручників — Альмога Меїра-Яна, Андрія Козлова і Шломі Зіва. Про це повідомило  видання The Times of Israel.

За даними видання, заручників звільнили під час спецоперації ЦАХАЛу 8 червня. Альджамал утримував людей разом зі своєю родиною.

За словами керівника Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor Рамі Абду, бійці ЦАХАЛу вбили Альджамала, його дружину та батька під час штурму 8 червня.

За даними ізраїльського видання, Альджамал був речником керованого ХАМАСом міністерства праці в Газі, а в минулому працював у кількох ЗМІ. У 2019 році він написав одну колонку для Al Jazeera.
