Головний редактор Bloomberg Джон Міклтуейт вибачився за передчасну публікацію статті про обмін ув’язненими. Пише Hollywood Reporter.

Він особисто написав листи з вибаченнями перед усіма звільненими в'язнями. Bloomberg News повідомляє, що «вжило дисциплінарних заходів» проти деяких співробітників після того, як видання «передчасно» опублікувало матеріал про обмін ув’язненими з Росією.

Чимало медіа , включаючи Bloomberg, були проінформовані про обмін але із забороною публікувати щось до завершення процедури обміну. Однак Bloomberg опублікував матеріал, коли літаки ще прямували до аеродрому, де мав відбутися обмін.

"Навіть якби наша історія не мала значення, це було явним порушенням редакційних стандартів, які зробили цю редакцію гідною довіри в усьому світі",- написав Міклтуейт.

Він додав, що Bloomberg вживе заходів, щоб гарантувати, аби подібний витік інформації не повторився
