Китайська філія американської корпорації IBM повідомила про звільнення понад 1000 співробітників та закриття дослідницьких лабораторій на тлі напружених відносин між владою КНР та США, - повідомляє South China Morning Post 

IBM є останнім міжнаціональним технологічним гігантом, який звільняє робочі місця в Китаї, оскільки загострення китайсько-американського суперництва змушує глобальні компанії коригувати свою діяльність на материку.

Як зазначає SCMP, найбільше скорочення робочих місць серед міжнародних корпорацій у 2024 році торкнулося китайських співробітників шведського виробника телекомунікаційного обладнання Ericson та американського виробника електромобілів Tesla, а також Amazon та Intel.

За підсумками минулого року обсяг продажів IBM в Китаї зменшився майже на 20% при зростанні обсягу продажів у Азіатсько-Тихоокеанському регіоні на 1,6%. Протягом першої половини 2024 року продажі у КНП знизилися на 5%, тоді як у АТР вони зросли на 4,4%.
