Toyota Motor збільшує свої інвестиції в виробника повітряних таксі Joby Aviation на $500 мільйонів для підтримки планів щодо комерційного виробництва. Відтак загальний обсяг інвестицій компанії зросли до $894 мільйонів.

Японський автовиробник, який розпочав фінансування Joby у 2020 році, заявив у середу, що надасть додаткові кошти компанії у два етапи: перший буде наданий до кінця цього року, а решта — у 2025 році. 

"З цими додатковими інвестиціями ми раді бачити, як Joby сертифікує свої літальні апарати та переходить до комерційного виробництва," — сказав Тецуо Огава, керівник американського підрозділу Toyota, у заяві.

Акції Joby підскочили на 28% на передринкових торгах у середу.
