Комісія зі зв’язку Південної Кореї має намір перевірити застосунок для створення і перегляду коротких відео TikTok, який належить китайській компанії ByteDance, на предмет можливого порушення національного законодавства про захист персональних даних. Про це повідомляє Yonhap.

Як ідеться в повідомленні, регулятор підозрює застосунок у тому, що він автоматично вимагає від своїх користувачів отримувати рекламу, а не просить їхньої згоди на надсилання такого контенту, що передбачено корейським законодавством.

Комісія зі зв’язку вважає, що TikTok може порушувати Закон про сприяння використанню інформаційних і комунікаційних мереж та захисту даних, і незабаром розпочне розслідування проти цієї платформи для обміну короткими відео.

Також TikTok звинувачують у тому, що він не ділиться повним вмістом своїх умов обслуговування та політики конфіденційності зі своїми користувачами під час їх приєднання до платформи.

Відповідно до корейського законодавства, подібні до тіктоку соцмедійні застосунки повинні надавати користувачам свободу самим вирішувати, чи отримувати їм маркетинговий або рекламний контент, та отримувати згоду користувачів на розсилку таких повідомлень.

У Південній Кореї порушники цих положень закону можуть бути оштрафовані на суму до 22 280 доларів США.
