І хоча інцидент був ненавмисним, ми щиро шкодуємо про будь-яке занепокоєння, яке він міг заподіяти, й цінуємо ваше розуміння в міру того, як ми працюємо над розв’язанням цієї ситуації з відповідальністю”, - зазначено у листі Міжнародної федерації футбольних асоціацій.

Щодо помилки, ФІФА проводить перевірку:"Інфографічна карта, про яку йдеться, була розроблена третьою стороною — зовнішнім підрядником з надання відповідних послуг. Виявивши проблему, ми негайно здійснили кроки для вирішення ситуації, зокрема вжили заходів для видалення зображення з обігу. Крім того, ми проводимо внутрішню перевірку, аби переконатися, що такі помилки не повторяться в майбутньому."
