Американська компанія Apple погодилася виплатити 95 мільйонів доларів, щоб врегулювати колективний позов щодо підслуховування голосовим помічником Siri користувачів без їхнього дозволу. Про це повідомляє Reuters.

Власники пристроїв від Apple поскаржилися, що компанія регулярно записувала їхні приватні розмови, коли вони випадково активували Siri, і розкривала їх рекламодавцям.

Позивачі стверджують, що після того, як вони згадували у приватних розмовах про певні бренди, у їхніх пристроях з’являлася реклама цих марок.

Apple вже подала угоду про попереднє врегулювання до федерального суду Окленду, штат Каліфорнія.

Якщо угоду схвалять, то компенсацію отримають мешканці США, які мали iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook, iMac, HomePod, iPod touch або Apple TV з підтримкою Siri в період з 17 вересня 2014 до 31 грудня 2024 року.

Для отримання компенсації користувач присягнути, що він випадково активував Siri під час приватної розмови. Максимальна сума компенсації одній людині — $20.

Адвокати можуть розраховувати на 30% від суми плюс витрати, що дорівнює близько 30 мільйонам доларів.

Як підрахував Reuters, $95 мільйонів загальної компенсації складає приблизний прибуток Apple за 9 годин. В останньому фінансовому році чистий прибуток компанії становив $93,74 мільярда.
