У другій половині 2024 року, після арешту Павла Дурова у Франції, кількість випадків, коли компанія Telegram надала інформацію користувачів на запит правоохоронних органів різних країн, зросла в кілька разів. Про це повідомляє Gizmodo з посиланням на останні дані прозорості Telegram.

Французькій владі за першу половину 2024 року Telegram надав ідентифікаційну інформацію лише про 54 користувачів. Проте вже після серпневого арешту засновника месенджера Павла Дурова у Франції кількість таких випадків за кілька тижнів зросла у майже 12 разів. Так, з липня по кінець вересня Telegram передав владі Франції дані 632 користувачів, а надалі, за останній квартал 2024 року, — 1386 користувачів.

У США протягом перших дев’яти місяців 2024 року Telegram надав поліції 108 IP-адрес або номерів телефонів користувачів, тоді як за наступні три місяці — 2145 користувачів за 900 запитами правоохоронних органів.

На четвертий квартал 2024 року припало понад 98% усіх оброблених компанією за рік запитів від правоохоронців у Великій Британії, 79% у Фінляндії та 74% у Бельгії.

Кількісно найбільше Telegram співпрацював із владою Індії, якій загалом протягом 2024 року передав дані 23 535 користувачів у відповідь на 14 641 запит. При цьому в четвертому кварталі надійшло лише більше половини цих запитів — 7649. Це демонструє, що в Індії месенджер активно сприяв роботі правоохоронців і до зміни політики.

Нагадаємо, після арешту засновника Telegram Павла Дурова у Франції платформа почала співпрацювати з місцевими правоохоронними органами. Telegram надав інформацію французькій владі в межах розслідувань кіберзлочинів, а згодом запити надійшли й від інших країн, таких як США, Південна Корея та Бельгія.

Згодом Дуров також повідомив, що платформа за запитами влади надаватиме IP-адреси та номери телефонів тих, хто займається нелегальною діяльністю. Компанія внесла відповідні оновлення до умов надання послуг та політики конфіденційності для користувачів по всьому світу.
