Компанія X Ілона Маска погодилася виплатити президентові США Дональду Трампу 10 мільйонів доларів для врегулювання позову з часів, коли компанія називалася Twitter і належала Джеку Дорсі, повідомляє The Wall Street Journal, посилаючись на джерела.

У позові оскаржувалося рішення Twitter заблокувати акаунт Трампа після 6 січня 2021 року, коли прихильники Трампа штурмували Капітолій США.

Повідомляється, що команда Трампа розглядала можливість зупинити свій позов проти Х через стосунки президента з Ілоном Маском, які зміцнилися за останні два роки.

У 2022 році Маск відновив акаунт Трампа у твітері, а потім витратив понад 250 мільйонів доларів на президентську кампанію Трампа у 2024 році. Цього тижня Маск і Трамп провели спільний пресбрифінг в Овальному кабінеті.

Попри відносини з Маском, Трамп усе ж вирішив завершити справу через угоду.

Окрім Twitter, Дональд Трамп також судився й з іншими компаніями, як-от ABC News, яка виплатила 15 мільйонів доларів, щоб урегулювати судовий позов, та з Meta, яка виплатила 25 мільйонів доларів за те, що заблокувала акаунт Трампа у фейсбуці.
