"Протягом двох з половиною століть наші хоробрі солдати боролися, проливали кров і віддавали життя за нашу свободу. Тепер ми вшануємо їх чудовим парадом – гідним їхньої служби та жертви", – йдеться у повідомленні.

Ще на початку квітня ЗМІ писали, що адміністрація Трампа планує провести військовий парад вулицями Вашингтона 14 червня, щоб відзначити 79-й день народження президента США.

Планування військового параду у столиці США почалось ще минулого року та було приурочене до 250-річчя американської армії.

Нещодавно членкиня Палати представників США від Республіканської партії Клаудія Тенні запропонувала оголосити нове державне свято з нагоди дня народження Дональда Трампа.

Під час свого першого терміну Трамп наказав Пентагону спланувати великий військовий парад після того, як відвідав Париж і надихнувся заходом до Дня взяття Бастилії у Франції.

Але парад скасували через вартість ($92 млн) і критики – як публічної, так і всередині адміністрації США.
