В иностранной прессе приветствуют внесение конституционных изменений в судебную систему Украины, которые открывают путь для дальнейших реформ. Успехи первого голосования, по заявления западных лидеров, должны задать правильный импульс и другим правкам в Конституцию Украины, включая предоставление большей автономии Донбассу. С приближением сроков, вопрос продления европейских санкций, для западных СМИ, становиться все более острым. То, что санкции не отменят – ни у кого сомнений нет. Но, по мнению некоторых журналистов, европейские лидеры могут пойти на их частичное послабление ввиду того, что Украина также не проявила своей приверженности ни реформам, ни выполнению Минских соглашений. В добавок ко всему, нападки на свободу прессы в Украине негативно отражаются на ее репутации среди западных стран.
