Предварительные итоги голосования на местных выборах прямо указывают на раскол внутри Украины, считают журналисты иностранных СМИ. Даже конфликт на востоке и аннексия Россией части территорий не смогли объединить жителей запада и востока. Для украинских олигархов эта избирательная кампания также оказалась серьезным испытанием. Второй новостью дня стало решение Европейского суда об отмене санкций против бывшего советника бывшего президента Януковича – Андрей Портнова.

У трьох містах Донбасу: Красноармійську, Сватово і Маріуполі місцеві вибори закінчились так і не відбувшись. В Красноармійську бюлетені надрукувала типографія, з якою не був укладений договір. І попри те, що Центральна виборча комісія ухвалила рішення проводити там голосування, вибори так і не відбулись.
