Об этом рассказал в среду, во время заседания исполнительного комитета Житомирский городской голова Владимир Дебой, пишут «Вести».

Но в этом году подаренную елку на площади им. С.П. Королева не будут устанавливать, ведь это требует значительных технических и финансовых затрат. Для установления ели необходима спецтехника, которой нет в Житомирской области. Имеющейся техникой можно установить ель до 18 метров.

Депутат городского совета, директор КП «Горсвет» Юрий Янушевич сказал, что после совещания с производителями, последним предложены варианты уменьшения высоты ели. Праздничной иллюминацией будут наряжать не только елку, но и украшать улицы.

Таким образом Новый год- 2014 житомиряне встречать со своей елкой, устанавливать которую начнут с 2 декабря 2013 на площади им. С.П.Королева.

Елка-конус стояла на Майдане Незалежности в столице в 2011-2012 годах. Она стала предметом многочисленных шуток и карикатур в Интернете.
