Верховная Рада приняла закон № 2023, которым изменены статьи Уголовного кодекса, по которым осуждена Юлия Тимошенко.

За соответствующее решение проголосовало 310 народных депутатов. Законом предусмотрено, что действие статьи 365 (статья Тимошенко) должно быть распространено только на правоохранителей, "тех, кто и составляет 99% субъектов этого преступления". Статья 364 "должна быть сдерживающим фактором для тех, кто намерен получить неправомерную выгоду вследствие злоупотребления своим служебным положением", отказавшись от формулировки "другие личные выгоды".

Внефракционный нардеп Сергей Мищенко заявил, что в случае освобождения Тимошенко готов сложить свой мандат.

"Как только Юлия Тимошенко будет освобождена, я готов написать заявление о сложении депутатского мандата и освободить свой 98 округ чтобы она смогла баллотироваться. Думаю, никто не сомневается, что Юлия Тимошенко пройдет в Верховную Раду", - написал политик в своем Facebook.

Как пояснил PRportal`у Сергей Мищенко, Юлия Тимошенко должна возглавить оппозицию и стать единым канидатом в президенты от оппозиции.
