Европейские лидеры не намерены закрывать глаза на перспективу эскалации военного конфликта в Украине, считают журналисты западных СМИ. Это продемонстрировали Ангела Меркель и Франсуа Олланд, оказав теплый прием украинскому лидеру Петру Порошенко, прибывшему в Берлин на саммит. Российской же стороне видятся «сигналы», которые посылает США России с твердым намереньем восстановить дружеские отношения, испорченные в последние годы.

Решение Александра Лукашенко помиловать политических оппозиционеров на кануне выборов, стало полной неожиданностью для европейских СМИ. Такого поворота событий никто не ожидал от «последнего диктатора Европы». Но западные журналисты не настолько наивны, чтобы полагать, что Лукашенко решил выйти из орбиты Москвы. Судя по всему, там вопрос больше упирается в финансы, которых в Минске нет, и взять их кроме как из МВФ просто не откуда.

Еврокомиссия поддержит трехсторонние газовые переговоры между Россией и Украиной, если они смогут найти общие точки соприкосновения на двусторонних переговорах в конце августа. Правда, до конца не ясно, что будет делать Европа, если этих «точек» так найти и не удастся, ведь от стабильности поставок российского газа через Украину зависит, в первую очередь, ее благополучие. Западные СМИ по-прежнему продолжают обсуждать российскую «сырную войну» европейским продукта питания. Все бы ничего, но безумие российского руководства начинает достигать действительно пугающих масштабов.

В западной прессе все больше озабоченности вызывает перспектива эскалации вооруженного конфликта на Донбассе. Иностранные аналитики все чаще склоняются к прогнозам перехода конфликта из вялотекущего противостояния в фазу активных боевых действий. В западных СМИ снова поднимается вопрос возврата коллекции крымских экспонатов с прошлогодней выставки «Крым: золото и секреты Черного моря». Политическая составляющая вопроса российской аннексии украинского полуострова, не позволяет вернуть экспонаты обратно в Крым, согласно всем договорам. Второй новостью сегодняшнего утра стала переброска американской военной техники в Болгарию, пока в очень урезанном количестве, но никто не говорит, что США этим ограничатся.
