107-летний житель Ирана Фейзолла Фатхи (Feizollah Fathi) начал регистрацию своей кандидатуры для участия в выборах в местные органы власти. Об этом во вторник, 28 марта, сообщает Lenta.ru

Мужчина обратился в избирательную комиссию шахрестана Дивандере (провинция Курдистан) вместе с 73-летней женой Джахан, также планирующей баллотироваться в совет деревни. Он заявил, что в случае избрания будет «служить народу и отводить главное место его проблемам».

Возраст 1889 зарегистрированных ранее кандидатов в местные органы власти превышает 75 лет. Ожидается, что голосование пройдет одновременно с выборами президента Ирана, намеченными на 19 мая.

В 2016 году сообщалось, что в ходе национальной переписи населения в иранской провинции Курдистан нашли старейшего в стране человека — 134-летнего Ахмада Суфи.
