Съемки обложки для выпуска «The Drone Age» проходили в Калифорнии. 

958 дронов компании Intel сформировали в небе название журнала и рамку, а еще один дрон снимал все это в воздухе. 

Из видео о съемках видно, что обложка получилась не строго вертикальной. Специалисты отмечают, что сделали так специально, чтобы дроны не сбили друг друга нисходящими потоками воздуха, которые создает пропеллер. Высота обложки — почти 100 м, а самое близкое расстояние между дронами — 1,5 метра.
