33-річний Джеремайя Перес був затриманий у власному будинку в Колорадо-Спрінгс в понеділок. Пересу загрожує до п'яти років у федеральній в'язниці, якщо його провина буде доведена, йдеться в заяві офісу федерального прокурора,повідомляє Корреспондент

За даними влади, слідчі вийшли на Переса завдяки наведенню Google, що володіє відеохостингом YouTube. Після того, як в компанії звернули увагу на коментар користувача під ніком Vets Hunting Cops (Ветерани полюють на копів) до одного з відео на YouTube, представник Google зв'язався 17 грудня з офісом ФБР у Сан-Франциско.

Посилаючись на випадок, коли офіцер поліції застрелив неозброєного чорного підліткав штаті Міссурі в серпні, Перес написав текст такого змісту: "Після (смерті, - Ред.) Даррена Вілсона (загиблий підліток, - Ред.) наша група вбила шість відставних шерифів і поліцейських... Через цей випадок ми почнемо полювання ще на двох в Колорадо на цьому тижні... За кожного невинного громадянина, убитого копами, ми, ветерани, будемо вбивати відставних безпорадних копів".

ФБР відстежила інтернет-активність підозрілого користувача сервісу і в понеділок, 22 грудня, агенти навідалися до Переса додому.

"Вони (агенти, - Ред.) дійшли висновку, що він (Перес, - Ред.) знав, що співробітники правоохоронних органів побачать повідомлення, і його метою було, щоб вони перебували в страху після прочитання", - пояснюється в повідомленні прокуратури. - Тому він був заарештований".

За словами прокурорів, судово-медична експертиза комп'ютера Переса підтвердила, що це саме той пристрій, що використовувався для відправки коментаря на YouTube.

Перес перебуватиме під вартою в очікуванні судової постанови і попереднього слухання, запланованого на 29 грудня.

Прокурор США Джон Волш сказав, що кожному, хто погрожує поліцейським смертю або підбурює до цього інших, слід очікувати до своєї персони "дуже серйозної уваги" з боку влади.

"Анонімність в інтернеті не буде захистом для підтримки насильства", - сказав представник ФБР.
