Американський телеканал НВО зніме міні-серіал про катастрофу на Чорнобильській атомній електростанції.

Зйомки п'ятисерійного фільму почнуться навесні 2018 року в Латвії, повідомив канал на літній зустрічі Асоціації телекритиків, пише Укрвїнська правда із посиланням на АР.

Головним героєм серіалу буде вчений Валерій Легасов, призначений Кремлем розслідувати причини. Його зіграє британський актор Джаред Харріс, пише також Variety.

Фільм розповість про аварію, яка сталася 26 квітня 1986 року на території України.

Крейг Мазін, Каролін Штраус і Джейн Фезерстоун є продюсерами фільму, Йохан Ренк і Кріс Фрай – співпродюсерами. Проект знаменує собою перше спільне виробництво між HBO і Sky Television.

Президент HBO Miniseries і Cinemax Programming Карі Антоліс сказав: "Відтоді, як (сценарист) Крейг Мазін запропонував нам цю історію, ми були переконані, що цю надзвичайно реальну історію жаху і спокути необхідно розповісти".

На його думку, вона розбурхає глядачів

Керівний директор Sky із контенту Гарі Деві зазначив: "Масштаб виробництва робить його ідеальним першим проектом для нашого спільного виробництва з HBO, втілюючи наші амбіції в розробці високоякісної драми з міжнародними точками зору і кастингом".
