Бывший глава «Газпром медиа» Михаил Лесин скончался в результате травмы от удара тупым предметом по голове. Об этом сообщает The Washington Post со ссылкой на департамент судмедэкспертизы округа Колумбия, передает Медуза
На теле Лесина также были обнаружены ранения в области шеи, на туловище и конечностях. Была ли смерть Лесина насильственной, эксперты не установили.
После появления в СМИ публикаций о причине смерти Михаила Лесина представитель МИД РФ Мария Захарова заявила, что Россия ждет от США «соответствующих разъяснений и официальных данных относительно хода расследования». По ее словам, РФ неоднократно пыталась получить информацию о ходе расследования, однако не получала в ответ «никакой субстантивной информации».
«Если сведения, озвученные сегодня в СМИ, подтвердятся, российские компетентные органы направят американской стороне запрос о международной правовой помощи», — написала Захарова в своем фейсбуке.
Официальные лица не сообщили в четверг никакой иной информации о таинственной смерти видного политического деятеля, который в свое время был министром печати и руководителем «Газпром медиа» — государственного холдинга, контролирующего множество российских СМИ.

Михаил Лесин умер 5 ноября 2015 года в отеле в Вашингтоне. Его родственники утверждали, что смерть наступила от сердечного приступа. 7 марта американский телеканал ABC7
сообщил, что судмедэксперты до сих пор не могут установить причину смерти Лесина.
После смерти Михаила Лесина высказывались разные предположения о ее возможных причинах. В частности, газета The Daily Mail
писала, что Лесин мог быть убит за связи с американскими спецслужбами.
Михаил Лесин возглавлял «Газпром медиа» с 2013 по январь 2015 года. Под его руководством холдинг приобрел основные активы компании «ПрофМедиа», в том числе телеканалы ТВ-3 и «2×2», а также кинокомпанию «Централ Партнершип». В 1999–2004 годах Лесин был министром печати России. До этого он занимал посты заместителя председателя ВГТРК и руководителя управления президента РФ по связям с общественностью.
