Зокрема, сьогодні, п’ятнадцятого жовтня 2017 року, в Австрії відбулись дострокові парламентські вибори. Попередні результати опитувань, проведених австрійськими політологами, показують, що перемогу змогла здобути Австрійська народна партія (політична сила консервативного спрямування). Цю партію очолює нинішній голова зовнішньополітичного відомства Австрії, тридцятиоднорічний Себастьян Курц. За прогнозами експертів, Австрійська народна партія отримує тридцять цілих дві десятих відсотка голосів виборців. Така кількість місць у парламенті вимагає створення коаліції, для чого потрібно заручитись підтримкою інших політичних сил.

Друге місце дісталось Австрійській партії свободи (право популістська політична сила) з двадцятьма шістьма цілими вісьмома десятими відсотка. На п’ять десятих відсотка від неї відстає Соціал-демократична партія на чолі з Крістіаном Керном, чинним очільником уряду. Решта партій отримують результат у розмірі приблизно п’яти відсотків. Похибка опитування становить близько двох відсотків.
