Немецкий медиахолдинг Axel Springer SE заключил сделку о покупке 88% доли в веб-издании Business Insider за $343 млн.
"Сделка является важным компонентом стратегии Axel Springer для роста вместе с изданиями, нацеленными на англоязычные рынки", — сообщается в официальном заявлении холдинга. Axel Springer уже принадлежит 9% доля в нью-йоркской компании, которая управляет сайтом businessinsider.com. Его месячная посещаемость составляет 76 млн пользователей. Сделка должна пройти одобрение антимонопольных органов, пишет delo.ua
Business Insider в 2007 году основал Генри Блоджет, который занимает пост генерального директора компании. Издание представлено исключительно в веб-формате и имеет семь отдельных версий для рынков Великобритании, Австралии, Сингапура, Малайзии, Индии, Индонезии и США. В июле компания также представила отдельный сайт для проекта о технологиях Tech Insider.
Среди инвесторов Business Insider основатель Amazon.com Джефф Безос, который с группой инвесторов приобрел в 2013 году долю в издании за $5 млн.
